Virtual and in person Counselling in St. Catharines and the Niagara Region, Ontario CA
You’re not struggling because you’re incapable. You’re stuck in patterns that keep repeating themselves.
I support women experiencing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, relationship stress, burnout, and coping patterns that no longer work.
Maybe you’ve become the person who holds everything together while quietly feeling exhausted underneath it all. Overthinking, over-functioning, people-pleasing, and constant mental load can keep your nervous system stuck in survival mode even when life looks “fine” from the outside.
You’re here because…
Things still feel hard, even when you’re doing everything “right”. You may look capable from the outside, but internally you feel stuck in constant mental and emotional overload.
Your mind rarely slows down. You replay conversations, anticipate problems, overthink decisions, and carry responsibility for everyone around you. Even when you’re functioning, your nervous system may still feel stuck in survival mode.
This can look like:
Difficulty switching off mentally
Emotional exhaustion that doesn’t improve with rest
People-pleasing, over-responsibility, or constantly putting yourself last
Irritability, anxiety, or feeling emotionally reactive underneath the surface
Over time, these patterns can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself, your relationships, and the life you’re trying so hard to hold together.
This isn’t about weakness or failure. Often, it’s a sign that your system has been under stress for too long without enough support.
Therapy can help you understand the patterns underneath the overwhelm, build emotional regulation, and create healthier ways of responding to stress, relationships, and daily life.
When stress and overwhelm become constant, it can start to feel like no matter how much you do, it’s never enough.
You may find yourself constantly pushing through exhaustion, struggling to slow your thoughts, or feeling disconnected from the parts of life you care about most.
Many people I work with want to feel more emotionally present, more grounded in their relationships, and less consumed by stress and mental overload.
Over time, patterns of over-functioning, people-pleasing, and chronic self-neglect can leave your nervous system in a near constant state of tension.
Therapy can help you better understand these patterns, respond to yourself with more awareness, and begin creating changes that feel sustainable instead of temporary.
Healing goes beyond coping and helps you understand the patterns underneath the stress
- As both a counsellor and mother, I understand how easy it is to become stuck in survival mode while trying to hold everything together for everyone else. My approach combines evidence-based therapy with practical, compassionate support that reflects the realities of everyday life, stress, relationships, parenting, and emotional overwhelm.
- This work is not about surface-level self-care or forcing yourself to “just think positive.” Together, we focus on understanding the emotional, behavioural, and nervous system patterns contributing to anxiety, overwhelm, burnout, and relational stress so change feels realistic and sustainable.
Counselling can help you build emotional regulation, clearer boundaries, healthier coping strategies, and a stronger connection to yourself and the life you want to create.

Testimonials
Sarah changed my life and gave me hope and the support and skill set to follow through on and build a future with purpose, value and loving connections that, 7 years ago when first introduced to her counselling services, I believed impossible. I would wholeheartedly endorse and recommend Sarah to anyone looking for for support and counsel through any aspect of their life and personal healing and growth.
– Krista
I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Sarah. Whenever I have needed her assistance she is always willing to help. Sarah is a dedicated instructor who is very committed to her student’s success. In my role as Education Assistant I interact daily with the student population and more than once I have been told by Sarah’s students how much they value not only what she has taught them but how much they appreciate the role she has played in developing them as a career professional.
